354/365 Snow in Allestree Park

The winter sun shone brightly, the sky was an amazing blue, and a thin covering of snow from yesterday brought excitement for many. I walked down to the lake, which was mainly frozen - those trees are lakeside.
And later, a fabulous sunset...

14/365 Spangled web

So much for yesterday's sunshine, this morning we have freezing fog! I've been down the garden to find this spangled web on some trellis. Now I must get back to the painting I didn't quite finish yesterday. ;0)

6/365 An ice picture or a nice picture?

We are having a cold snap here at the moment so I ventured onto the deck and took the slab of ice from a bowl and put it in the sun - its one of those crisp bright winter days with blue sky and sunshine. A leaf from a silver birch is trapped in the ice, along with many air bubbles. Hard choice today - I'll post some of the other shots to Picasa later.

Frosty winter morning

I don't usually relish cold weather, but I have been wanting to take wintry pictures, this being the first winter with my Canon. However, one thing about British weather - you can't rely on it to do what you expect these days! I wonder if I'll capture a good rainbow some time during the coming year?Posted by Picasa
