292/365 Sunshine shadow

Its a pity we didn't have a little of this sunshine yesterday to enhance the colours at Westonbirt, but at least it was dry and bright. The mobile casting this shadow hangs in my conservatory, the top is a sunshine, the curve is a rainbow, the other hanging elements are rabbits and sheep. Its made from felt and is embroidered, its a very cheerful sunshine mobile!

126/365 Potentilla

The potentilla is in its first flush of flowers. We have two of these shrubs, both yellow, they were here when we moved in and we like them - another yellow flowering thing I realise. We have plenty of pink too. This was taken with a new lens I got yesterday. Well, new to me anyway - a member of the photo club upgraded to full frame, so EP & myself were happy to buy 2 Sigma lenses from him. This is the 28-300mm, 3.5-6.3 DG Macro and I love it. (My other Sigma was a budget purchase, and boy do I notice the difference now!) Sweet, real sweet :0) I must treat my hubby to a special dinner this weekend for letting me have this bargain... :0)

89/365 Kerria blooms

We seem to have quite a few yellow flowering plants in our garden, most of which we inherited when we bought the house, and this is my favourite. This starts to come out just as the forsythia peaks, and shelters under the bare branches of the tamarisk tree. (Just wait til May when the tamarisk is in bloom with a clematis growing through it - its Mark's favourite.)

Rosie & Sweetie mooched in the garden while I took a few pictures, Rosie is very hard to catch well, being so very black! Sweetie just sits there though, mainly.

77/365 Forsythia (and cat)

Its a bit like sunshine on a bush really. Its a mass of rich yellow several feet high and across and in full bloom now. It grows in our neighbour's garden and hangs over our fence. From the bathroom window, which is obscure glass, it looks just as stunning, a suncloud. It is tricky to isolate blooms as they are so crowded together, but the dark fence is a perfect foil for the intensity of colour.

And here is the cat. Again. But this time in monochrome!

58/365 Daffs

I love the first daffodils of spring. Today's choice was very hard, so there's a small daff gallery on the Picasa page, worth a look. However, I had to post 'Daff Cat' ;0)
